Faces of the Survivors: Rita

A Miracle, Rita’s Story

We remember those who lost their lives as well as honor those who survived. To honor their memories, we’d like to share with you the story of Rita, a Holocaust survivor from Jerusalem who fled through the forests of Eastern Europe to survive, crossing a dangling bridge, bombs falling around her, and miracle after miracle including her brother being born in the middle of the forest! By reading her unique story, you’ll see all that she went through and get to know the dear woman that she is today. The poems were written by her, photos of her past and illustrations of her memories all bring it to life.
